A beautiful, paradisical beach surrounded by palm trees and tropical rainforest.
It's not a crowded beach but it is very well-known by surfers looking for good waves.
How to get there:
Engenhoca beach is located in a private area. There is no public access by car. The only way is walking.
The trail starts 12 kilometers from Itacaré, on the road to Ilhéus.
Walking fast the trail only takes about 20 minutes, passing through rainforest and then along an ocean cliff.
Food and beverages can be purchased on the beach.
Engenhoca is the main longboard spot in Itacaré thanks to its more mellow and longer peeling waves.
The beach is a half enclosed bay and is nicely protected from the northeast wind that is characteristic of the summer in Itacaré, definately the best time for surfing at Engenhoca.
